your brand

Get on your brand

Ok so I was at meeting the other night and I found it very interesting that a lot of manager’s, owners and marketers from SME’s to Multinational companies could not answer the following question what is your brand?

What is your brand?

Some of the answers that were received were a description of their Logo or a description of the service or product. So the next question that followed was.

What does your customer see as your brand?

The answers were eh, em, what do you mean and other non-secure answers.

OK so let’s see how we can clear this up.

The Idea of branding was created by cattle farmers in Texas as a way of distinguishing their cattle from that of another cattle farmer.

However as we know it today it is very much the distinctions between companies and how they position their product or service to its customer and how the company creates the story of the companies proposition.

Therefore a brand is a product, service, or concept that is publicly distinguished from other products, services, or concepts so that it can be easily communicated and usually marketed. A brand name is the name of the distinctive product, service, or concept. Branding is the process of creating and disseminating the brand name. Branding can be applied to the entire corporate identity as well as to individual product and service names.

The brand has an effect on all areas of the Business and can be seen as the key tool to how a company can resonate, engage and proposition its clients and increase revenue.

Using your brand to develop the customer journey and develop needs wants and demands is also a huge part of your brands job. As it creates credibility, clarity and consistency.

The Branding process seeks to develop and align customer expectations associated with your brand by creating stories.

People buy the experience of your brand because of your marketing messages you have been sending out associated to your brand and create more sales.
